Women in Engineering

The Computer Science & Engineering Department at UC Riverside is working intently to increase the representation of women within our degree programs. As part of an effort funded by the Northeastern University Center for Inclusive Computing, one specific initiative is to increase training to faculty to create a more inclusive learning environment. A series of workshops under the title “Women in Engineering” will cover the science of teaching and learning, effective instructional practices, and bias training. With those efforts, in combination, with newly redesigned introductory courses, a new undergraduate learning assistant program, and renovated student engagement spaces, we are aiming a 10-point increase in the number of women graduating from our programs.

In cooperation with XCITE, we are offering a series of Lunch and Learn Sessions. The first Lunch and Learn session on ‘Online Student Engagement’ is scheduled for Friday, December 02, 2022 from 12 pm to 1 pm at the XCITE Commons located in the Library. Details on more sessions coming soon.
